Alexa Chung as a style setter... I still don't get it!

I know Alexa Chung has a lot of fans especially in the UK, but, I still could not comprehend how she became a style setter.

She looks too unkempt in this all black ensemble during Derek Blasberg's Opening Ceremony party in NYC. You have no idea how much I would like to comb her hair. And those, are those loafers?!
