Miss Angola, Leila Lopes, was crowned Miss Universe 2011. It was an unexpected win because most thought it would be Miss Philippines, Shamcey Supsup, who answered with more conviction than the other four candidates. Regardless, I wasn't actually interested in who will take home the crown but who wowed the audience with their grace especially during the evening gown competition.

Miss Angola... now Miss Universe 2011 wore a sweetheart gown with beaded details and feathers. She looked ravishing.
She looks like some Hollywood starlet here because of that stare. Anyway, the second white gown of the competition. Miss Ukraine's gown is obviously inspired by Greece. It is simple but Miss Universe 2011 First Runner-Up carried it pretty well.
Miss Universe 2011 Second Runner-Up, Miss Brazil, chose a canary yellow gown that looks like she just came from a prom. It doesn't give much impact compared to the white gowns.
A very simple gown by Miss Philippines that made the most impact during the evening gown competition. It was reportedly designed by a Colombian designer named Alfredo Barraza. I wish she had worn something that was designed by a Filipino. Her elegance earned her the title of Miss Universe 2011 Third Runner-Up.
Miss China aka Miss Universe 2011 Fourth Runner-Up chose to wear her country's color--red. The drop bodice is intricately beaded and embroidered. I couldn't say much about the dress because I think I have seen this design before.
