Met Gala 2018 "Heavenly Bodies" Arrival Photos

The most fashionable event of the year has begun and we were all in shock (in a good way) when celebrities arrived one by one and walked up the stairs of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. This year's theme is Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination and attendees really served us fashion fused with religion that it is hard to make a best and worst dressed list.

The first to made our jaws drop is Rihanna. I mean, how can you not love something that is referenced to a pope. This amazing creation is by Margiela. She is one of the event's co-hosts and naturally the expectations are high. Rihanna is one of the reasons why the Met Gala is one of the most anticipated events of the year.

Stunning. Blake Lively cemented her status as one of the best dressed celebrities EVER in this intricate Atelier Verscae gown. While she wasn't accompanied by Ryan Reynolds, she was able to tag along her pal Christian Louboutin. 

Another celebrity to go all out is Emilia Clarke who wore a Dolce & Gabbana embroidered gown with cherub paintings on the skirt. The "it" accessory of the evening was a crown and of course the queen of the dragons wouldn't be caught dead not wearing one. Her makeup reminiscent of the Victorian era was made possible by Jillian Dempsey. 

Arianna Grande hinted on Instagram that her Met Gala gown is inspired by the Sistine Chapel. The painted cherubs on her ball gown seems like they are rejoicing the arrival of a heavenly body. This stunning creation is by Vera Wang.

We thought Katy Perry will have a hard time topping her 2013 Met Gala look but we are so wrong. Her Versace look is as heavenly as it could possibly be. It was reported that she even  rode a convertible just to fit her wings. It is outrageously good that we live for it.

At the front, Bella Hadid's custom Chrome Hearts look can be referenced to Padme Amidala because of the exaggerated collar and gloves and the religion reference can also be seen on her skirt. The placement of a large cross on her back made a "walking away" impact.

Kim Kardashian was dripping in gold with her custom Versace gown. It was simple cut that made a huge impact because it fitted Kim's hourglass figure perfectly. 

One of the earliest to arrive is Lily Collins who stunned in Givenchy. We already know the reference of this look. We love how everything pieces together--from her headpiece, her makeup, the off-shoulder top and see through skirt, and her carrying a rosary... we died!

Jennifer Lopez is putting this Balmain dress for auction. It was announced by Olivier Rousteing earlier this day through Balmain's YouTube account. Other Balmain dresses worn today will also be auctioned off. If there is one dress, if we have at least $5K, we will place our bid on Jennifer Lopez's dress. It is stunning!

Kate Bosworth channeled a virginal woman who could make you confess your worldly sins. Her Oscar de la Renta gown looks so divine that we could almost hear angels sing.

Zendaya made a brilliant move to reference religion to one of the most notable women in the history--Joan of Arc. Her custom Versace gown sent us back to the time of the knights and warlords. If anyone else would do this look, she will fail miserably.

The Met wouldn't be complete without Madonna. Each year, she makes us lose our senses when it comes to her red carpet looks. If there is one theme that she should go all out, it is this year's. She has made several songs referenced to religion--does Like A Prayer ring a bell? Her black gown with a huge cross in the front, the veil, the crown and the black roses... we literally went bonkers.

Another Met Gala veteran is Rosie Huntington-Whitely who looks divine is Ralph Lauren caped gown. Her halo headpiece was to-die-for, it completed her saintly look.

Cardi B made a successful debut at the Met Gala wearing a custom Moschino gown by Jeremy Scott with intricate bead works and a matching head piece.

Balmain's 2018 Met Gala Dresses Up For Auction

Olivier Rousteing of Balmain announced in their YouTube account that he will auction all of his designs worn by celebrities at the 2018 Met Gala in partnership with (RED) to fight against AIDS. Celebrities who will participate in the charity event are Jennifer Lopez, Alex Rodriguez, Trevor Noah, Juliette Binoche, Natalia Vodianova, Natasha Poly and Julia Stegner. The bidding price starts at $5K online and 100% of the proceeds will go to the Global Fund, which aims to prevent the transmission of HIV during birth.

This year's Met Gala theme Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination inspired Olivier Rousteing to this charity auction. " I'm inspired by religion. More than that, I'm inspired by love... I told my team, I know that these [looks] won't be ours at the end. But they're going to auction for (RED). I wanted to make the most memorable clothes not just by their craftsmanship, embroidery, or cut, but because all of that would go toward helping kids survive. That was the point: to make the most spectacular creations to get the most money to save the most lives," Olivier told Refinery29. We couldn't agree more.

All of Beyonce's Coachella 2018 Performance Looks

Last night's Coachella was epic and it's all because of Beyonce who made all of our BeyHive dreams come true. She's the first black woman to headline the music festival. Olivier Rousteing revealed yesterday that Balmain created Beyonce's performance clothes and that the designs are inspired by the queen of Egypt, Greek letters and animals, particularly a black panther and of course, a bee.

Her performance began with an epic walk wearing an elaborate body suit with a cape and a headdress inspired by the crown of Nefertiti, the queen of Egypt. 

From an ancient queen, Beyonce transitioned to a modern superstar wearing a yellow hooded jacket with embellished Greek letters, ripped shorts and sparkly fringe boots. Fans speculated that the initials on her jacket meant Beta Delta Kappa is the sorority of the whole Beyonce fandom, some say those are her initials "B" and "K" with a Delta symbol in the middle to symbolize change, others say it simply meant she's "back" if you read the letters in English.

A Beyonce performance staple is a black body suit, leather jacket and thigh high boots. This look is very commanding.

Another eye catching design is Beyonce's crest which bears Nefertiti, a black panther, a bee and a black closed fist surrounded by an olive wreath. You can see on the top portion the eye of Horus and a falcon and at the bottom, you can see her name with 2018 written on it.

Everyone who attended the music festival and those who watched the live streaming  went home and slept fulfilled because she surprised us all when Solange and Jay-Z performed with her. She even had a mini reunion with the Destiny's Child!

As we all get excited to see Beyonce perform the second time at Coachella, it's also sad to think about that it's also the last day of the music festival. Despite the bittersweet thought, per usual, Queen B slayed the night starting from the minute she walked on the stage wearing a silver body suit with a cape and a headdress referenced to the Egyptian queen.

Her sparkly fringe boots also made a second appearance but this time with a fuchsia embellished hooded sweater.

Like Jay-Z, Solange, and Destiny's Child also performed alongside Beyonce wearing this sparkly body suit. This was her dress when we all got crazy seeing her maneuver the fan (literally), again. The guy who was supposed to do that was nowhere to be found. It wasn't the first time she had an encounter with a fan. A few years ago, her hair got caught in the blades but Beyonce still sang her heart out while staff tried to untangle her hair.

Celebrity Style: Beyonce wears Balmain at Coachella 2018

Beyonce, in her Instagram post earlier this day, asked the fans to be patient because she and her team prepared a very special number at the Coachella Music and Arts Festival wherein she is the main performer. Aside from her exhilarating performance, fans also get excited about what she is going to wear on stage so 5 minutes before Queen B hit the stage, Vogue revealed that Olivier Rousteing of Balmain will be wearing his designs--4 in all! And because we waited, as what Queen B said, here is her first Coachella look.

Hailey Baldwin leveled up the jumpsuit trend by wearing a see through Zuhair Murad belted jumpsuit that showed off cleavage. Those Jimmy Choo platform sandals perfectly complemented the look.

Laura Marano is slithering in serpent designed suit and Schutz pumps.

Kesha wears a Monsoori ball gown and she looks drowning in all that tulle.

Noah Cyrus, just like her sister Miley is a fashion rebel. While everyone else is glam, she showed up in oversized sweatshirt and over the knee boots. The Cyrus family was in attendance to support her nomination.

Celebrity Style: Halsey in sequined mini dress

The opening of Balmain boutique in LA was star studded. Olivier Rousting's BFF Kim Kardashian was there, as well as Kerry Washington and Kate Bosworth, to name a few. The music industry was well represented, too and one of them was Halsey who wore a sequined mini on top of a graphic t-shirt and ankle strap sandals. Of course, it was head to toe Balmain.

The Kardashian-Jenner sisters and their dusters

Dusters have ruled the Kardashian-Jenner closets even before dusters were said to be fashionable this season. They have shown us varieties of the dramatic flowing coat or dusters, whatever you call them, regardless of the season. Aside from adding layer to keep you warm, dusters hide unsightly bulges around the waist and it gives you a dramatic and sexy feeling when you walk and it is blown by the wind.

Kim is rarely seen without a duster coat, with or without the baby bump. She is usually dressed in monochromatic ensemble but she sometimes grace us with hint of colors just like the teal duster she is wearing.

Kourtney's aesthetic is more avant garde and structured but she does not shy away from more feminine touches like the pleated pink duster she wears over a lace top and satin shorts.

Khloe is the tallest among the girls and has gone full circle embracing her curves especially when she was able to shed weight proportional to her height. She likes to wear jeans to run errands but dresses it up with a white duster and heels.

Kendall is busy as a bee especially during fashion week so she needs something easy to wear for her to go from one show to another. She's usually in jeans and midriff baring tops and adds a striped duster coat to make her stand out from the crowd.

Kylie is probably one of the busiest teens in Hollywood because of her cosmetics business and appearances in various events while still managing to make time to socialize with friends. Her style is one of the most copied styles among teens and when she was seen wearing the light blue duster over a basic white top, jeans and pumps, her followers immediately took notes.

Adam Levine just got his very own Hollywood star and Behati Prinsloo and their adorable daughter, Dusty, were there to support him. Behati, being a supermodel that she is, wowed in a strapless jumpsuit that she wore with a furry jacket and sandals. Her studded black purse added a contrast to the delicate ensemble.

Celebrity Style: Kylie Jenner in Balmain lace jumpsuit

It has been weeks already when Kylie Jenner was photographed wearing a stretch lace jumpsuit from Balmain but I cannot let it pass. There's just so many things going on despite the fact that it is just a jumpsuit. First, Kylie is sexy is this outfit and her hair is shiny and it looks healthy. Those pumps are great, too! This is not the first time she's worn tight fitting jumpsuits (catsuits). Take a look:

Kirsten Stewart gave the word "unpredictable" a new meaning. For this year's MTV Movie Awards, K. Stew wore a safety pin covered mini from Balmain. There are only few safety pin dresses and I say that she rocked the whole look better.

Hell No: Balmain distressed shirt at 75% off, no one is buying

Would you wear a designer tattered shirt?  The only person I could think of who would wear this is Miley Cyrus.  She's often seen with tattered jeans and shirts and this shirt is actually conservative than what she  usually wears.  

Even if this shirt is by Balmain, I don't think any sane person would stash that much for a shirt that's been ripped by angry sewers.  I actually believe that this shirt is made from overrun fabrics and they thought people would still buy it because it is from Balmain.  And when they learned that no one is buying, they lowered the price to $346.25.  Originally, this shirt costs $1,385 at The Outnet.  Hell no!

I'd rather buy a really nice pair of shoes.

Why would anyone make pants out of curtains and charge $6,453.48?  Balmain should provide us with the best explanation.  This is obviously lust!
