Cate Blanchett did not attend the Met Gala because she's at the 71st Cannes International Film Festival. Don't be confused, this photo is actually from the Gala dinner to kick off the film festival this year. She first wore this Armani Prive gown at the Golden Globes in 2014 and she has a valid reason for wearing it again. This year's film festival focuses on sustainability and she, together with other participants were in full support by wearing responsibly sourced materials for whatever they wear on the event.

For a dinner in Paris for Louis Vuitton's collaboration with Jeff Koons, Cate Blanchett wears a Louis Vuitton belted jacket with contrast stitching and pants to look edgy and chic. Honestly, I thought she's wearing shorts over pants because of the flaps. Those shouldn't be there. And maybe boots would complete the ensemble.
