Oscars 2015 Red Carpet Arrival Photos

Let us start with Lupita Nyong'o who dazzled in a Calvin Klein halter gown with more than 6,000 pearls that she accessorized with diamond Chopard earrings. This gorgeous dress was stolen and then found again. Faux pearls or not, this dress surely made headlines.

Julianne Moore looked radiant in her custom Karl Lagerfeld strapless beaded gown that she finished off with Chopard jewels.

Marion Cotilard never fails to exude classic French sophistication--case in point this Dior gown with polka dot laser cut design.

Reese Witherspoon is on point in this custom Tom Ford pale blue gown with black off shoulder strap and belt that emphasized her waist.

Gwyneth Paltrow made quite a buzz in this Tom Ford blush pink gown with enormous rose adorning the shoulder. But, what made us drool is the huge earrings by Anna Hu Haute Joaillerie.

The Oscars 2014 Red Carpet Arrival Photos Part 1

Aside from winning the Best Actress trophy for the movie "Blue Jasmine", Cate Blanchett also won the hearts of fashion critiques in this dreamy and lady-like nude gown by Giorgio Armani. In all of the nude gowns of the night, this gown tops the list.

Angelina Jolie breaks out from her usual color and silhouette and chose this beaded Elie Saab gown that still oozes with sexiness and sophistication. Apart from the shimmering dress, it's her megawatt smile that lit up the red carpet.

Another red carpet pro is Kate Hudson who went for vintage glam in this silver Atelier Versace gown that is plunging in front as well as the back.  The strategically sewn drape in front accentuated her enviable curves even more.

Naomi Watts went for a sleeved Calvin Klein dress that she accessorized with Bulgari jewels. Take a look at that neckline!

Penelope Cruz went for sweet romantic in this light pink Giambattista Valli creation with black contrast belt. The up-do allowed for a better view of the stunning asymmetrical neckline and gorgeous diamond earrings.

The most anticipated awards night of the year concluded with Cate Blanchett as the Best Actress for the movie "Blue Jasmine" by Woody Allen. The dapper Matthew McConaughey took home the Best Actor trophy for his performance in "Dallas Buyers Club". Truly deserving of the Best Picture award for this year's Oscars is "12 Years A Slave"--the breakout movie of Lupita Nyong'o, whose acting prowess gave her a Best Supporting Actress statue.

Here's the list of other deserving winners...

Oscars 2013 red carpet arrival photos part 4

Halle Berry is one amazing lady! It seems she has an anti-aging shield surrounding her and regardless of the clothes she wear, she looks gorgeous! Dress her with a potato sack and I bet she'd still look sexy in it. Despite the conservative design of this Versace gown... her sex appeal is still oozing!
More spectacular gowns after the jump... See Naomi Watts, Nicole Kidman, and Sandra Bullock.

Jennifer Hudson looks ravishing in this blue Roberto Cavalli long sleeved gown with thigh high slit and Christian Louboutin heels.

The real housewife Brandi Glanville, I believe, has plenty of money to buy nice and well fitted clothes, so why did she wear this gown?  No report of nip slip has happened, thank goodness!

2013 is Jennifer Lawrence's year. She just won an Oscar for her role in Silver Linings Playbook and she landed again on the best dressed list because of this dreamy Dior Haute Couture gown.

Angelina Jolie's leg at the Academy Awards 2012

Photo from people.com
Angelina Jolie's leg made more headlines than the highlights of the Academy Awards. It even went trending on Twitter... now that's what I call star (leg) power. I really like the awards season because it is the time that stars get to show off their best. A red carpet event such as the Academy Awards is a make or break event whether they are nominated or just around to watch. The gowns and jewelries are a feast for the eyes... too bad, not for shoes because they are usually hidden underneath long gowns. I think that was Angie's point in doing the stance (leg out, arm on waist)... to show off her custom made Salvatore Ferragamo pumps. Of course, the velvet Atelier Versace gown made it happen because of the thigh high slit.

Academy Awards 2012 arrival photos part 2

Cameron Diaz, went for a pale Gucci gown (her preferred color on the red carpet). What is interesting and jaw dropping is her nearly $1 million worth of jewelries from Tiffany & Co.

Judy Greer looks statuesque in this Moniquie Lhuillier column gown.

Conservative in front, sexy at the back. Sandra Bullock's black and white Marchesa gown is nothing but.

Another white gown od the evening is Gwyneth Paltrow's caped Tom Ford creation that fits Tilda Swinton's personality rather than hers. She looks cold despite the grin.

The girl with blunt bangs, Rooney Mara, went for an edgy white Givenchy gown. The random folds on the chest are so distracting.

The burning stare of Milla Jovovich was softened by her Elie Saab white gown. She looks great, really.

Academy Awards 2012 arrival photos part 1

The lady is red Louis Vuitton, Michelle Williams, looks every inch sophisticated. The minimal jewels (necklace and brooch on the waist) courtesy of Fred Leighton, the Bottega Veneta pink clutch and crystal pumps made her look a complete knock out.

Natalie Portman made a statement in this red polka dot gown by  Dior Haute Couture. Her black  clutch and spectacular Harry Winston jewelss are to die for.

Emma Stone looks elegant in this Giambattista Valli gown with huge bow on the neck a la Nicole Kidman. She finished off the look by wearing Louis Vuitton jewels and Brian Atwood heels. Her sparkly clutch is also by Louis Vuitton.

Jennifer Lopez was only a presenter but it did not stop her from going all glam and sexy in this  Zuhair Murad gown . Her Salvatore Ferragamo clutch and Jimmy Choo heels completed her look.

Stacey Keibler wears something that is fresh from Marchesa's runway... a liquid gold lame gown with huge rosette detail on the hip. She completed her look with Judith Leiber clutch, Rene Caovilla heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Another peplum gown of the night is Tina Fey's black gown by Carolina Herrera. It is very simple and elegant.

Academy Awards 2011 Arrival Photos

2nd hit in a row and I could not wait for Halle Berry's next red carpet appearance. After the disastrously  lingerie inspired gown during the Golden Globes, she came back with a revenge with an Elie Saab gown that signals her red carpet comeback. Here, she is wearing a beaded romantic Marchesa number that is purely a sight to behold.

I am not too crazy about Natalie Portman's Rodarte off shoulder gown. It is just so-so but what made her look more interesting is her Tiffany and Co. tassel earrings.

Mila Kunis looks ravishing in this Elie Saab lace gown. The color looks good on her but I am a bit nervous because of the top. Luckily, no fashion mishap was reported.

In all of Anne Hathaway's 8 dress changes in the Oscars, this red Valentino is my least favorite. The color is perfect on her but it's the window treatment like back that killed it.

Nicole Kidman still has wedding bliss and we're not complaining about that, it is just that this embroidered Christian Dior gown is better on the aisle rather than on the red carpet.

Yep! That's Penelope Cruz's post-baby body. Some girls have all the luck. Penelope wears a  sparkling L'Wren Scott dress that gave her the right curves and cleavage.

This Monique Lhuillier gown looks so breathtaking on and off the runway and Mandy Moore proves that. I am just a little concerned about the hair style. What do you think?

I kinda miss Gwyneth Paltrow's red carpet appearances and this Calvin Klein drop waist gown gives me the right amount of satisfaction. It is the deep neckline that made the look unique and all her own.
