Royalty Style: Meghan Markle wears off shoulder dress at Trooping the Colour event

The newly minted duchess, Meghan Markle, attended the Trooping the Colour event yesterday. It's her first event with the entire royal family since her wedding with Prince Harry on May 19. She surprised the conservatives with a blush off shoulder Carolina Herrera dress matched with Philip Treacy hat when she stepped out of Buckingham Palace balcony to greet their subjects. We really don't see anything wrong with her dress. Is it really in their dress code not to wear off shoulder dresses?

It's not the first time that a royalty wore an off shoulder dress during an official event. Princess Diana wore an off shoulder gown by Victor Edelstein in 1985 at the White House dinner hosted by President Ronald Reagan. She was with Prince Charles during the event and she event danced with John Travolta that night. She has worn a lot of shoulder bearing dresses and the world didn't care about it. Another royalty who wears off shoulder dresses is the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, herself. She wore a pretty red off shoulder Alexander McQueen dress when she went to Berlin, a long sleeve off white Barbara Cassola dress during a dinner event in London, and another stunning Alexander McQueen gown during the 2017 BAFTA's.

If you like the Duchess of Sussex's look, here's some equally stunning off shoulder dresses to choose from. Click the arrow on the right to browse:

Celebrity Style: Blake Lively stylish maternity style

In Jonathan Simkhai sheer paneled dress and Christian Louboutin "Paloma" tote bag.

Even before Blake Lively married Ryan Reynolds, I always admired her style. She's the typical but not really, California girl you would want to take outdoors, go shopping or hangout at the park or the beach. She has that bubbly persona that clearly manifests in what she wears, even while pregnant.

Now that she is pregnant the second time, she's not the one you will see dead outside wearing totally unflattering maternity dresses.

She wears a Diane von Furstenberg Resort 2017 collection and Christian Louboutin "So Kate" crystal embellished pointy pumps while out in NYC. She is actually wearing two dresses. Clever!

Here, Blake wears a Valentino multi-print maxi dress with leather ribbon on the waist and Christian Louboutin "Goldostrap" T-strap spiked pumps. Who says you can't wear killer heels if you are pregnant.

For the premiere of Cafe Society, Blake wore a Carolina Herrera mini dress with flower details and Christian Louboutin "Uptown" D'Orsay pumps.

Just recently, for an interview at The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, she wears an intricately designed black and white dress with flowers and bondage design by Emanuel Ungaro and Christian Louboutin "Pyrabubble" studded sandals.

A very Carolina Herrera taffeta gown

Fashion designers have been in the industry for so long that whenever you see a dress, you know who made it without really looking for the dress details. Like this, taffeta gown that is a classic Carolina Herrera design. I am actually imagine her modeling it.

Photo from classiq.

Carolina Herrera is such a brilliant, classy and elegant woman. She's a sworn lover of classic white button downs that she's often seen wearing it and mixing it up with other classic pieces and statement accessories. I bet she got the inspiration of the taffeta gown from her own closet. Don't you just love classic pieces?

The taffeta gown is available at neimanmarcus.com for $4,290.

Oscars 2013 red carpet arrival photos part 2

The real housewife Brandi Glanville, I believe, has plenty of money to buy nice and well fitted clothes, so why did she wear this gown?  No report of nip slip has happened, thank goodness!

The MET Gala 2012 Red Carpet Arrival Photos Part 2

Christina Ricci's Thakoon dress didn't surpassed the Zac Posen dress that she wore last year in the same event. For me, it was the most dramatic dress of the night. Until next time Christina.

Diane Kruger is simply stunning in this Prada feathered confection.

I love the old Hollywood glamour appeal of Dianna Agron's Carolina Herrera dress. And the color is amazing on her skin.

Elizabeth Banks still can't enough of the Hunger Games hype that she event went to the MET wearing the character. This Mary Katrantzou dress literally has clashing prints.

Emma Roberts is a darling in this tangerine Escada dress. It is youthful and vibrant (literally). It makes me want to volunteer as her BFF.

Another Emma who brought cuteness to the MET is Emma Stone. She is wearing a Lanvin dress that is reportedly water proof. But no one dared pour liquid on her that night so we will never know if the report was true or not.

Academy Awards 2012 arrival photos part 1

The lady is red Louis Vuitton, Michelle Williams, looks every inch sophisticated. The minimal jewels (necklace and brooch on the waist) courtesy of Fred Leighton, the Bottega Veneta pink clutch and crystal pumps made her look a complete knock out.

Natalie Portman made a statement in this red polka dot gown by  Dior Haute Couture. Her black  clutch and spectacular Harry Winston jewelss are to die for.

Emma Stone looks elegant in this Giambattista Valli gown with huge bow on the neck a la Nicole Kidman. She finished off the look by wearing Louis Vuitton jewels and Brian Atwood heels. Her sparkly clutch is also by Louis Vuitton.

Jennifer Lopez was only a presenter but it did not stop her from going all glam and sexy in this  Zuhair Murad gown . Her Salvatore Ferragamo clutch and Jimmy Choo heels completed her look.

Stacey Keibler wears something that is fresh from Marchesa's runway... a liquid gold lame gown with huge rosette detail on the hip. She completed her look with Judith Leiber clutch, Rene Caovilla heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.

Another peplum gown of the night is Tina Fey's black gown by Carolina Herrera. It is very simple and elegant.

To Die For: Carolina Herrera Spring 2012 Collection

Carolina Herrera, New York Fashion Week 2011.
One of my favorite designers is Carolina Herrera. She is such a woman of style and grace that it shows in her designs. Her designs stand the test of time... you just couldn't go wrong with a Carolina Herrera dress. If I own one right now, I can still see myself wearing it in years to come, I might be able to pass it on to my daughter.

For spring, Carolina Herrera's designs are like breathing fresh air over and over again. She played with flowing white, green, blue, yellow and red fabrics with unique but subtle prints combined with color-blocking technique. Per usual, her gowns were breathtaking.

Front row guests for the New York Fashion Week were Nicki Minaj who was seated beside Anna Wintour. Of course, a Carolina Herrera fan since birth, Renee Zellweger was there.

2011 SAG Awards Arrival Photos

Congratulations to the winners of the recently concluded Screen Actors' Guild (SAG) Awards. And as usual, I had a feast looking at the gorgeous photos of Hollywood stars. Here are some of the arrival photos.

Let me start off with a surprise from Tina Fey who is not wearing black or a jumpsuit. She looks gorgeous in this lace Oscar de la Renta gown. And if she'll continue dressing like this, she'll be taken more seriously as a comedienne on the red carpet (love the irony).

Mila Kunis looks young, fresh, having lots of fun... who wouldn't be if you are wearing an Alexander McQueen? Between kissing Natalie Portman in Black Swan and dancing ballet, this gown is the best thing that ever happened to her.

Lea Michele keeps it clean in this sparkling Oscar de la Renta gown that she accessorized with a golden slim belt . It is a fashion rebound like no other after the pink gown that got not so rave reviews. I wonder where she learned to pose like that.

I love this dreamy Monique Lhuillier gown but unfortunately Angie Harmon doesn't have the right personality to carry it. This has been done before and Penelope Cruz set the standards so high that it is hard to surpass.

It's good thing January Jones covered up for the SAGs and she's taking risks again by wearing this gold lace gown by Carolina Herrera. If only she had a different hairstyle, this could be on top of my best dressed list.

I didn't recognize Dianna Agron. It's the makeup that killed the look. The lace tea length Chanel gown is so cute, I wish she kept the cuteness by wearing lighter makeup.

I really adore Amy Adams's red carpet choices. Here, she is wearing a fitted Herve L. Leroux gown that made her look like a modern Grecian goddess.
As usual, Hilary Swank hit all the right notes in this one-shoulder Versace gown.

That's more like it!. Eva Longoria looks definitely better here compared to the black gown she wore during the Golden Globes.

To Die For: Carolina Herrera's delicate floral dresses

My heart is beats so fast while checking Carolina Herrera's collection during Fashion Week.  Her floral and Japanese obi inspiration is the perfect fusion of sophistication and class.  Take a look at some of her designs.

The perfect gown for any red carpet event.  Renee Zellweger is one of Carolina Herrera's loyal clients, I think this would look good on her.

It is all about the details.  The glittery floral embellishment on the shoulder highlights the model's neck and face.

This dress is perfect to wear during tea parties, watching Polo or the Kentucky Derby.
